At last, the time has come to announce the Exclusive Pre-Release of the SoundTheories EP 01. I’ve copied the release write-up below so you can get the full scoop…don’t sleep on this one!

Ilmli’s debut single, "All Dressed up and Nowhere to Go," is Lobotomy’s latest slice of music theory, and my how this one bumps!

Ilmli is known to many as half of Ominous Cloud, the champions of organic house, broken beat and downtempo, who achieved a signature sound by fusing electronics with jazz, soul, and funk. He’s known to us as Troy Stoner (yes that’s his real name), an artist who started playing trumpet in the sixth grade and decided early make music the focus of his life. His educational career continued with in-depth training at an audio school. In the midst of his training as a composer, he entered and won both the Sasha and BT remix contests. As a result, he co-remixed two tracks with BT, Kaskade’s "Steppin Out" and Sarah McLachlan’s "Dirty Little Secret."

Now Mr. ilmli finds himself the first place winner of Sound Theory 01 original track competition, hosted by Habersham, Resonant Vibes, and Lobotomy Records. He carefully deconstructed the sample pack to deliver a heavy grooving breakbeat with warmth and analogue funk.

To round out the package Habersham provides his theory on how to twist, re-twist, and mangle sounds into what he calls his "favorite remix in ages"! It’s like being kicked in the stomach with a thrompin’ Haber-boot, only to find out there’s no way to stop dancing. Experimental techno/tech-house is perhaps the only way, if any, to describe it.
