RV Upload Bigger than Beatport’s Last Week?

David vs. Goliath of RV vs. Beatport

You may not have noticed, but RV has taken a quantum leap forward in terms of our upload volume…

Last week, we added more than 6,700 tracks and 7 new sample packs to our shop!

As I considered this fact, I found myself thinking we may have uploaded more tracks than Beatport last week…a bit like David meeting Goliath (hence the image to the left).

We’re taking on so many new quality labels that my head is spinning…and, as I’ve said before, every single track we upload now is available in WAV and MP3 format for $1.50.

I don’t mean to sound like a braggart in writing this post. I’m actually quite humble about our status in the industry; I still see RV as an underdog in many respects. We’ve never had the millions of dollars in start-up capital or the huge staff that a company like Beatport has had…yet we’re still here after more than four years, and we just keep getting better by working hard and staying true to our love for the music.

It’s funny; I can still remember our early uploads…those times when we were doing well to get 70 tracks up in a week. Back then, the whole dance music download industry was in its infancy, and all of the download stores were trying to figure things out. The industry has changed now, and in a lot of ways the bar has been raised in terms of customer expectations. I think all of this is ultimately good for the music and for you (the music lovers).

Anyway, I won’t rant too much more about our increased upload volume, but I will tell you to be on the lookout for tons of amazing underground tunes in our shop…for a better price than you’ll find on any other download site ;)

You are doing a great job guys, so hang in there. :)
It always annoys me to find tracks only available on this big buggy flash shop. :D
I guess thats all part of some weird label politics I don’t care much about. The most annoying thing for me is that a track can be found multiple times with various prices under different labels. Very confusing if you ask me.
