It’s that time of year again. The long summer days are officially behind us, and as we make an almost ceremonial descent into the winter months there’s time for one last summer fling. What’s more it’s a free fling full of “Love” and it’s set in the heart of San Francisco. It’s a fling where music, sun, good people and good times can all get it on one last time.
.
That’s right, it’s time for San Francisco’s annual Love “Something” parade. This year it’s called “LovEvolution” and for more information on why it’s name keeps changing you can visit the organizers’ site HERE.

Regular readers of this blog will know that rv has a soft-spot for the fine people over at listed Productions. We’ve been involved in several of their past events and they put on ridiculously good parties while understanding what’s involved to make them a success. They know that it takes the right combination of world-class talent, mind-blowing sound systems and quirky themed productions to bring out the exhibitionist in us all. The result is an experience you’ll keep talking about. It’s even a little piece of history in the making if you’re lucky.
.
For this year’s LovEvolution weekend listed are setting the bar high with an insane schedule of 4 parties in 3 days. Each of their parties is unique and worthy of it’s own blog post, but I’ve condensed them all into one. I will say is that if you’re planing to be anywhere remotely close to the Bay Area over the LovEvolution weekend you OWE it to yourself to attend one of their parties. It’s that simple.

Friday: Tyrant featuring Lee Burridge and Craig Richards
The Scoop: Wow, what a way to start! This is the first time Lee and Craig have played together Stateside as Tyrant in almost 10 years. Tyrant built a reputation as the residents of London’s Fabric nightclub by providing the backbone to the clubs musical direction. Together they understand music in a way that’s truly mind-expanding and they have a constant focus on keeping the vibe going. Combine that with a slew of unforgettable Tyrant tunes and you start to get an idea of what to expect. listed resident Mike Khoury has established himself as Burridge’s opening DJ of choice in North America, so he should provide the perfect start to a very special night of music.
.
Plenty of additional production is being trucked in to transform Club 525 into something a bit special for the night so we think you’d be a fool to miss out on it. What’s more, we’ll be there taking photos and video for the blog, so you should really come along for the bonus of making it into one of our galleries or videos!
.
Saturday Day: listed gets Twisted
The Scoop: The madness continues as Messrs. Burridge and Richards are joined by Danny Howells and Bill Patrick alongside listed residents Hac Le, Mike Khoury, Nikita, Dory, Hoj and Naveen G on the listed parade float. With every possible style of electronic music to be heard in the San Francisco Civic Center on parade day, you may have to do the rounds early and wind up front-and-center at the listed float for the better part of the day. You’ll be missing out otherwise.
.
Saturday Night: Gallop Sessions 02 with Danny Howells
The Scoop: The baton gets handed off to Danny Howells as listed moves into their third party of the weekend with opening support from Naveen G. Howells doesn’t need much introduction and the venue is being kept secret until the day of the gig, but I can share that it has a phenomenal sound system and is very intimate. If you’re at all interested in getting to this show you better have a cunning way of getting your hands on a ticket because it’s invite only!
.
Sunday: The Morning After the Love
The Scoop: If you’re still standing at 6 a.m. on Sunday
morning and at a loose end—which you probably will be—get yourself over to The EndUp for 15 hours of continued sillyness. On the bill are Craig Richards, Bill Patrick, Nikola Baytala, Hac Le, Nikita, Hoj, Dory and several other unannounced special guests. This listed party is now in it’s 4th year and considered the official closing party to a very long weekend. It’s even been called the ‘Sunday School for Degenerates’ of the parade weekend, and you’ll be in good company with a big group of new friends you’ve known for 48 hours, stiff drinks and addictive beats to keep you entertained well into Sunday night.
.
In conclusion there are many places you could go in San Francisco over parade weekend to hear great music. In our opinion though it’s simple: listed are throwing the best parties. They will have the best sound systems. You’ll meet the friendliest of people at their events and become part of the listed family in the process. They’re in it for the right reasons, and it shows. Just be sure you don’t miss your flight home on Monday like I did. Twice.
