That’s right blog readers, as our inaugural mix contest enters it’s final weekend two mixes are standing ahead of the rest of the field! Each of the mixes are different in styles and each of the DJs seems to have done a great job promoting their mixes to help drive their ratings up.

Now, for you readers of the blog that might not know much about our network let me explain a little bit more… Our Electronic Music Network is a section of the site where you can upload your own mixes and tracks for free. You can find great live sets by the worlds biggest DJs alongside mixes from up-and-coming DJs who are looking for more exposure; which is really what the rv network is all about. All the content in the network is ratable and free to download.

We recently updated the network to improve everything from how you browse to it’s design and feel. We also developed a way of running contests to reward the people who upload the most popular mix or track in a given period. (We know that everyone has a competitive side in them somewhere!) What’s more we’ve partnered with MixMeister to give away a copy of their Fusion software every two weeks—worth a cool $330—and now two DJs have emerged that are battling it out for top spot!

As I write this Mike Briscoe’s mix (+18/-0) has Stephen Wiley’s mix (+21/-4) nudged out for first place. What’s really impressive is how Briscoe entered with guns-blazin’ by uploading only yesterday! We’ve given people the ability to share and promote their mixes on places like Facebook and Twitter so I guess it’s come down to Mike having a great social network of friends that have got behind him and rated up his mix really quickly.
