The Hunt for Elusive Content, Pt. 1 – 14th of November 2009

There are several components to having a world-class electronic music download store. Visibility (which we’re increasing on a daily basis), a site that is easy to navigate (we have something in the works which should put us (and you) leaps and bounds ahead of where we are now), and a host of other things that are quite important. Though I’m biased in this discussion, from my point of view (and a number of customers), content is key, if not king. You can’t buy it if we don’t have it. With this in mind, I begin the first of a series of updates to keep you abreast of all of the new labels and artists that will be hitting the site over the next few months. We’ve closed some deals, we’re close to closing a few more, and we’re doing our best to make sure that when you come to RV, you don’t have to go elsewhere and spend more money than necessary because we don’t have that which you seek.
.
Here are some of the labels about which we are particularly excited:
.
new_labels1
CLR – Chris Leibing’s techno powerhouse. CLR has released works from Speedy J, Umek, and the man himself. His CL Rety imprint has issued remixes from Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, Chris McCormack and more.
.
Desolat – Founded by Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich. Notables include Luciano, Cassy, DJ Sneak, Jay Haze, and Dubfire.
.
Giant Wheel – John Dahlback and Remo, and remixes by Guy Gerber, Extrawelt, and Thomas Schumacher.
.
Green – Joris Voorn.
.
Ideal Audio – Dubfire, The Glitz, and Oliver Huntemann. Pan-Pot has remixed some of their tracks.
.
Kling Klong – Martin Eyerer, Peter Juergens, and Oliver Klein with remixes from M.A.N.D.Y., Minilogue, Marc Romboy, Martin Landsky, and Dubfire.
.
mobilee Records – The Berlin based techno and minimal label has been making big waves over the past few years and shows no signs of slowing down. Releases from Anja Schneider, Dan Curtin, Pan-Pot, Exercise One, Sebo K, and remixes by Jooris Voorn, Cassy, Nick Curly and loads more.
.
Nettwerk – DJ Dan, Felix Da Housecat, James Yuill, Ladytron. Remixes from Zodiac Cartel, Danny Howells, Robbie Rivera, Kissy Sell Out, Lissat and Voltaxx, James Zabiela, Kate Simko, and many more. Talk about a list…
.
new_labels2
Olmeto Records – Another big fish, Olmeto staples Layo & Bushwacka’s tracks have been remixed by Nick Fanciulli, Loco Dice, and Green Velvet.
.
Phonica – Phonica is only 3 records in, and their last release was a collaboration between Matt Tolfrey and D.Ramirez. Not a bad start.
.
Pickadoll – Sure to do its part to keep the RV ship sailing, Pickadoll has issued tracks by Pig & Dan, John Dahlback, Tommy Trash, Dada Life, and Style of Eye. Robbie Rivera, Laidback Luke, John Dahlback, Tiger Stripes, and Sebastian Leger have had their hand in Pickadoll remixes. Not too shabby.
.
Punx – Moguai’s label. Originals from, believe it or not, Moguai and Kid Massive. Some Guy named Gerber has been known to remix Punx tracks.
.
S2 Records – Tiesto, Phil Green, Cosmic Gate, Armin Van Buuren, Deadmau5 – remixes from Sied Van Riel, Alex M.O.R.P.H., Jonas Steru, Mr. Sam, and a host of other people who will rock your trance socks right off.
.
Soundcolours – Blank & Jones’ deep and chilled out vehicle.
.
Tuning Spork Records – Some names you might recognize: Alex Celler, Jay Haze, Fuckpony, Ricardo Villalobos, and last but certainly not least, Adam Beyer.
.
I think that’s enough for the first post. This is just the tip of the iceberg. As Jong would say, we’re bringing the heat – literally.
