re:produce 005: AOE – Out Now, Exclusively on RV!

Techno and tech house samples from Absence of EssenceWe just released another killer sample pack, re:produce 005: AOE. This one is available exclusively on RV, and it offers 103 MB of infectious, delightfully warped techno and tech house sounds for just $10!

Absence of Essence (AOE) is the Atlanta-based production trio consisting of Darius Kohanim, Knix, and Dee Washington. These artists are collectively responsible for releases on labels like Lobotomy Records, Audio Therapy, Proton Music, AlterImage Recordings, Influx Audio, Hunya Munya, and Emote Music. AOE has worked alongside, and seen their tracks remixed by, the likes of Pig & Dan, Habersham, and a host of other top-tier producers.

The AOE members share a passion for the technical aspects of their craft and for the creation of forward-thinking electronic music. Their re:produce 005 sample pack is the cutting-edge product of three creatively warped minds. This collection is filled with intense, twisted sound effects, rhythmical noise and synth loops, mangled vox effects, and wicked drum patterns with dirty techno undertones. Most of the samples were recorded at 126 bpm, and they are all ready for use in Ableton Live. AOE designed these unique signature sounds using Logic, Cubase, Native Instruments, and several other audio production tools.

To get a taste for the innovative, mind-bending sounds in AOE’s re:produce 005 pack, just check out the preview by clicking the play button below ;)

Enjoy!

re:produce 004: Kazell – Out Now, Exclusively on RV!

Techno and house samples from KazellWe just released a stellar new sample pack, re:produce 004: Kazell. This one is available exclusively on RV, and it offers 125 MB of uberlicious, inspiring sounds for just $10!

You probably already know that Kazell is an exceptional DJ, but I’m still going to say a bit about him before describing his re:produce pack

Kazell is a UK native and Los Angeles transplant. When he first got to the States in 1991, he started building an impeccable reputation in Atlanta (his home base) and all along the East Coast. If you’ve heard his music, then you know he plays a mind-stimulating breed of tunes – a fusion of dub, tribal, and breaks, layered on top of a tech house base. More recently, Kazell has broken into the upper echelons of the dance music industry, going from “one of the hottest DJs in warmup” (according to the L.A. Times) to a label owner and peak hour headliner in demand worldwide. In making his ascent in the industry, Kazell has played gigs with the biggest DJs in the world like Sander Kleinenberg, Deep Dish, Sasha, and Digweed (at their request).

In addition to his success as a DJ, Kazell has amassed a solid body of work in the studio. His critically acclaimed 2003 debut release Driven was voted “best compilation of the year” by Jive Magazine. His tracks have also appeared on top labels like Global Underground and Lost Language, and they’ve been featured on compilations by DJs like Sander Kleinenberg and Nick Warren.

On a more personal note, I must say that I’ve been an ardent fan of Kazell since I first heard his Kiss 100 guest mix back in 2006 – amazing, vintage prog ;)

Obviously, we were pleased to have Kazell do the honors for creating re:produce 004, and he absolutely delivered the goods! His aim in creating this pack was to offer you a view directly into his world of production. This top-shelf sample collection includes:

          9 Arp Sequences
          7 Bassline Sequences
24 Drum and Percussion Hits (with a flexible NI Battery Kit)
          24 Grooves
          2 Synth Risers
          4 Synth Chords/Pads

As an added bonus, Kazell threw in five Native Instruments “Massive” patches, which are crafted to allow for superb flexibility and control. He recorded all of his re:produce sounds using Logic, deriving sounds from analogue and digital sources.

When asked for feedback about the re:produce 004 pack, Kazell said:

It’s great to build a track from the ground up, synthesizing every element, but for most of us that’s just not realistic. With this pack, I wanted to share some of the custom building blocks I reach for when starting a new track. I tend to write these types of parts when I’m in between projects and keep them as flexible and open ended as possible. I hope you enjoy this sample pack.

re:produce 003: TOWMF | Released Today!

 - Out Now -

Re:produce 003: TOWMF, the latest in our new line is a pack from TOWMF (The Ones With Many Faces), a collaborative project from Patrick Campbell – Rift- and myself. Together we have releases on Vellum Recordings, Thoughtless Music and Lobotomy as well as a strong focus on multimedia arts with sound design.

We’re really excited to showcase a main conceptual side of our compositions stemming from our use of field and foley samples captured in the moment. Re:produce 003 includes over 140 MBs of 24 Bit, Ableton-ready WAV audio files with recordings of pouring rice, crushing cans, crinkling bags, shaking or grinding coffee beans, giving rise to epic crescendos and morphed into vesatile rythmic samples including percussion loops, shakers and sound effects. There’s even a NI Battery Kit, with over 30 one-hits, and essential basslines and chords created using analog monophonic and polyphonic synthesizers.

The application of these samples is to give you tools to create contemporary compositions, whether it be for deep, tech house or minimal percussive electronica. However our sample pack reaches far beyond the 124 BPM tempo at which most of the sounds are set, allowing for non-tempo relevant use in any form of audio concoctions.

If you like the use of natural sounds stylistically from artists such as Stimming, Bruno Pronsato, or Thomas Melchior then check out the preview clip attached and see for yourself.

As our re:produce audio sample series evolves our excitement and anticipation grows with each new release, mainly thanks to your wonderful support and feedback! Please keep it coming

re:produce 001: Komposit – Launch of New RV Samples Series!

Techno and house samples from Komposit

I’ve been looking forward to writing this post for a while…

RV has been quiet on the sample pack front, but that just changed!

This evening, we released a new sample pack from Komposit (Damon Fonooni, aka Habersham). This pack is the first in a new series of RV samples called re:produce.

Before I go any further in writing this post, I want to point out that we’re selling the re:produce 001: Komposit pack for only $10.00! That’s 124 MB of uber-tighteous-quality samples for the price of about 4 tracks on other (overpriced) download sites!

Our aim in launching the re:produce series was to add a fresh, unique product line to the samples market – which is hard given the number of new packs being released these days. Our re:produce series will be a sequence of smaller sample packs, engineered by highly respected producers, and offered for an irresistible bargain price. Each sample pack in the re:produce series will contain roughly 100 MB of sounds in 24-bit WAV file format and will be complete with ready-to-use practical bonuses like Battery kits, pre-mapped Abelton files, MIDI data files, etc.

We’ve already lined up the next few packs in the re:produce series, and we think you’ll be quite pleased with the artists we chose to create them…but enough about the re:produce series as a whole, let me say a bit about this first installment from Komposit…

To kick the re:produce series off in proper fashion, Komposit engineered an array of fresh techno and house sounds. His re:produce 001 pack includes beat loops, staple synth sounds, and a basic Komposit One-Hit pack with Battery kit. These sounds are some of Komposit’s most valued gems for worldwide Live PA performances. The beat loops and drum samples range in tempo from 122 to 128 bpm and are perfect for modern house, techno, and electro production. The synth and noise sounds have warm undertones of dub techno and house along with tonal sounds fit for any genre of driving dance floor tunes.

For your listening pleasure (and to tempt you), I’ve posted the preview for this sample pack below. This clip was handcrafted by Komposit to give you an inkling of the potential of the re:produce 001 pack.

Enjoy!

Introducing Damon Fonooni, AKA Habersham

habersham1

I’m writing this post on the heels of Damon’s one below. I should probably have posted this one before his was published – but better late than never, it’s been a busy week!

Anyway, I’m pleased to offer the blog readers an introduction to Damon Fonooni; a new addition to the list of Resonant Vibes blog contributors.

Habersham as he’s more commonly known has been a stalwart of the the American underground dance music scene for some time. An accomplished electronic music producer and a long-time advocate of Apple’s Logic Pro for his productions he’s crafted a unique futuristic sound over the years. In my opinion his sound is one that sits outside the box of the trendier stuff you might hear on your local dance floor; his productions are always cutting-edge and highly original, sculptured to make you think about what you’re listening to.

You can check out one of his tracks in the rv network HERE.

It’s these qualities that made us take note, and eventually approach Damon about working on our SoundTheory project. The concept behind SoundTheory is to produce sample packs that have been designed by talented and well regarded electronic music producers. The packs are crafted to have an emphasis on being performance-ready ‘out of the box’ which reflects the approach Damon has taken towards his own live performance.

As Damon mentioned we’re working on a new sample pack concept with him, and it’s one that’s really exciting. I don’t want to give too much away, but we’re looking forward to doing something a bit different with it. :)

Outside of samples, Habersham has had a slew of releases on some noteworthy labels including his own Lobotomy Records imprint, Bedrock Records, AudioTherapy, Global Underground, Auralism, and EQ.

As we’re working with Damon on these sample projects, we thought we’d invite him to get involved with the blog because he’s always shown support for rv and he’s an intelligent and articulated writer. Combine that with the fact that as an artist he has the opportunity to travel extensively which should make for some good stories. All in all we think that his addition to the blog will be great and we’re really glad to have him involved. I hope you enjoy reading his posts as much as I do!

If you want read more about Habersham click HERE, and if you want to check out his exclusive SoundTheory promo mix click HERE.

Deadmau5 and Xfer Sample Pack from Loopmasters

Deadmau5

We just added a seriously buzzworthy sample pack to our store…Deadmau5 and Xfer Records have delivered the goods for Loopmasters!

We have over 100 sample packs on our site, but I thought this one deserved a blog post.

As you may know, Xfer Records is a label started by Deadmau5 and his longtime friend and studio accomplice Steve Duda for their collaborations, such as BSOD, and WTF? with Tommy Lee and DJ Aero. These guys have set a new benchmark with their latest release: Loopmasters Presents: Deadmau5 Xfer.

An extensive amount of gear was used for the package – including circuit-bent and analogue drum machines, vintage analogue synths such as Moog and Arp, original acoustic drums and other sounds recorded in various professional studios. A variety of digital sound sources were used as well for creating new sounds, such as FFT synthesis, additive/subtractive synthesis, even custom DSP routines coded by Steve Duda in C++.

Here’s what Steve Duda had to say about the pack:

Despite the large amount of sample CDs out there, we saw a niche for one geared towards building blocks of EDM with a twist – this one is royalty-free, so it can be used in original productions with no fear of legal repercussions from the original artists who are often sampled on other CD libraries. We tried to make an assortment featuring a variety of sound sources, which aren’t overproduced so they can fit into a production work-flow without stamping their own flavor on a mix or being overly-recognizable.

I’ve included the two-minute preview for this pack below. Dig in!

Now Offering Samples from Bluezone Corporation

I figured I’d write a quick post to announce the fact that RV is now working with Bluezone Corporation, another provider of quality sample collections…

At the risk of bragging, I can’t resist pointing out that we were the first electronic music download store to have the vision to offer sample packs. (This was actually Sam’s innovation, and now a number of stores have gotten in the game.) Our reason for providing sample packs is simple: we want to cater to all three of the basic types of electronic music lovers, DJs, fans, and producers. Samples help producers make hot tracks, which DJs play and fans enjoy ;)

So anyway, back to Bluezone…to kick our new partnership with these guys off, we added Bluezone Presents: Downtempo Box to our store. This is a sample pack for those who crave and appreciate lounge and ambient vibes. It contains 125 drum loops, hundreds of drum samples, and other bits and pieces that will make a useful addition to any downtempo producers library of sounds.

In the weeks ahead, you can expect more goodies to hit our store from Bluezone.
