Morgan May – First Winner of the RV Network DJ Competition

Morgan May Electronic Music DJ
We’ve already announced Morgan May as the first winner of the RV network DJ competition, and now it’s time to give him a duly earned in-depth profile here on our blog.
.
As I write this post, Morgan’s winning mix – @ Twisted Modelf*cker 06 April 2009 – has received 78 thumbs up ratings! It’s still the highest rated mix in our network, and we have nearly 300 mixes posted. His mix has gotten more positive feedback than other mixes that were submitted by well-known DJs. My hat is definitely off to him!
.
Over the past couple weeks, our team has had the opportunity to exchange emails with Morgan. We asked him some general questions, and I’ve been listening to his music to get a better feel for him as a person and an artist.
.
Morgan was born in the U.S.S.R. (He told us that the country’s dissolution reminds him that nothing lasts forever.) He lives in The Netherlands now, but he’s also lived in Austria, Russia, and the United States at other points in his life.
.
Morgan has been an electronic music fan for over 15 years. He started DJ-ing after visiting a friend in Florida who had a local following of people. This friend had a cool spot that he could turn into a club, and his performance made a positive impression on Morgan. In 2000, Morgan decided to embark on his own (more…)

Eddie B Upload Highlights (Feb.10) — Great Prog & Some Techno and Trance

We’ve been adding loads of solid tracks to our store…

I’m writing this post for all of you who want a quick and easy way to find some good tunes…maybe you’re too busy to go browing through the thousands of new releases and just want a few recommendations…here ya go ;)

As usual, you can load all of these tracks conveniently as a playlist in our media player by clicking HERE.

1. Forever July (Original Mix) – Mango [Proton Music] <– WOW! This is a great track! Mango absolutely delivers again. This guy has a unique ability to pull on your emotional chords with a unique, silky smooth ilk of progressive house. Rich melody, lush groove, I really like this guy’s style :D

2. Last Station (Original Mix) – Jozef Kugler [FeralCode Records] <– This is a FREE download, and (IMO) it’s one of the best track we uploaded last week. I know I already wrote a post about this release, but I can’t say enough good things about FeralCode Records. Once you preview this track, you’ll be sold.

3. Sound (Original Mix) – Storyteller [Toes in the Sand Recordings] <– Storyteller simply gets the job done with this track. If you’re interested in getting more information about him or this release, check out his interview from last week.

4. Round Trip (Original Mix) – Jozef Kugler [FeralCode Records] <– Here’s another FREE track from the Metro Station EP that I’m really feelin’…just a solid piece of craftsmenship.

5. The Night (Original Mix) – Lovebirds [Winding Road Records] <– I know this track from somewhere…maybe it was in a podcast…I can’t remember, but it’s good stuff!

6. Turin Quality Clubbing – Marshall & Libex [303 Lovers] <– I had to add a little variety here…with some heavy, bangin’ techno…great track!

7. Floating (Original Mix) – Marcus Belmar [Ocean Drive Records] <– Yet more variety here…a dose of progressive trance…drive, melody, and a good beat, all in this track.

8. Minor (Original Mix) – Francesco Gemelli [Malatoid Records] <– Good track here from Malatoid Records. Steady beat; nice sound…

9. Argentina Steak (Jacco at Work’s Roodbont Mix) – Jacco at Work and Nicholas van Orton [LuPS Records] <– Jacco is a great industry cat, and I’m pleased to say this release is on point!

10. Fly Away (Original Mix) – Blue Lunar Monkey [Synergetic Records] <– Here’s my last little twist of variety…some quality downtempo to round this list of recommendations out on a chill not ;)

Launch of Fevah Records…

Fevah Records LaunchI wanted to write a post to let our blog readers know about the launch of a new label called "Fevah Records." In the label’s own words, here’s some of what they’re about: "Over the coming months, Fevah Records will be slowly introducing the next era of production maestros and future stars, continuing to serve up a selection of huge hard trance and pure trance anthems, heavy pounding twisted hoover seamed servings of hard house…but also with the coming of age and the ever changing tastes and needs of clubbers across the globe, this new era will see the Fevah productions team adding to its arsenal four new genres, breaks, electro, tech and a new experimental drum n breaks hybrid sound." If you want the full scoop on the label, you should check out their MySpace page at http://myspace.com/fevah_records.

If you’ve been reading our blog for a while, you probably know I’m not a connoisseur of hard house or hard trance. The reason why I’m writing this post is because our contact for dealing with Fevah Records is a cool cat by the name of UglyDave (also our contact for Scum Records) ;) In addition to having a nickname that immediately makes you grin, UglyDave has the sort of personality that lets you know he’s hella serious and passionate about his tunes! …which I respect, even for genres that don’t always make it into my upload highlights posts.

The first release we added for the Fevah Records label is "My Rules." It’s live now on our site, and I’ve made it easy for you to check out the previews for all of the new Fevah Records tracks. Just click HERE to load them as a playlist in our media player ;)

Enjoy!
