Miami WMC Parties Presented by listed

Leeeeky Tikki Party

Miami WMC parties are plentiful, as you no doubt know. I want to continue highlighting the parties that I think will offer a special experience for you. Specifically, in this post, I want to fill you in on the WMC events being presented by listed Productions.

If you’ve been reading our blog for a while, then you probably know we’ve worked with listed on some previous epic events. Each year, listed ups the ante by delivering bigger and better Miami WMC parties. This year promises not to be an exception!

In order of occurrence, here are listed’s WMC parties…

TWILIGHT ON THE TIKKI

On Thursday afternoon, March 25th, listed is kicking off their WMC festivities with the Twilight on the Tikki party. The headlining talent for this event is SOS (i.e. Omid 16B, Demi, and Desyn Masiello). Naveen G will also be gracing the decks. As with all of their Tikki parties, listed is offering an OPEN BAR for this one! If you’ve never been on one of the listed Tikki parties, I can say firsthand that they’re amazing. (For more details on Twilight on the Tikki, go here.)

MOONLIGHT ON THE TIKKI

When the night falls, the Tikki boat will head back out again. For this soiree, the tunes will be delivered in the form of a M_nus showcase! Troy Pierce, Marc Houle, and Barem will assume headlining honors after listed resident Nikita warms things up. Again, there will be an OPEN BAR, so things are bound to get interesting. Tickets for Moonlight on the Tikki are selling for $150, but listed is offering a

Sunday School Recap

.
It was billed as the 24 hour party, but in reality it was the final 24 hours of a very long week for a lot of people. We got there to pick up our wrist bands just before midnight on Saturday just as things were getting fired up. We didn’t stay long though, having decided to come back later to enjoy more of the day-time sets.
.
On our return, we heard the party long before we saw it. We made our way to the entry and we only had to wait for a couple of minutes to get in – unlike James Holden who was was peering inside having to wait a good deal longer while he tried to locate someone to get him in.
.
The garden terrace was coming under frequent and torrential rain showers on Sunday which kept shutting it down but things were getting going again when we got there with Guy Gerber on the decks. The area was adjourned with palm trees, massive speaker stacks, hedgerows, school buses, ice cream vans and very frazzled party-goers. Exactly what you’d expect to find on a Sunday afternoon during WMC!
.
Inside the party was in full-force. The warehouse was packed full of a drenched crowd of people getting down to the beats of Ida Engberg. I think that the vibe inside was electric due to the outside being shut down because of the rain, so that definitely played a part in making things kick-off inside. There’s not much more to be said about it really, the pictures sum it up pretty well.
.
The sound from Integral was top notch, and as Mike Bindra and Laura de Palma from Made Event said in an earlier interview the wooden framing did warm up the sound. The space was really cool with a central skylight running the length of the room, with various bits of intelligent lighting hung from the wooden roof trusses to create an interesting blend of old and new. They had brought in some large mirrors for the party, and positioned them around the room which really added to the feel of the place.
.
All-in-all this year’s SSFD felt like a warehouse party and I think that was the idea. Since when do you go to Miami and experience a proper warehouse party? A city which is known for it’s lavish clubs and expensive decors got flipped on it’s head for 24 hours. It was never going to be like Pawn Shop, and it never tried to be. The true blooded electronic music crowd we’re out in full force; with big DJs and fans all partying together to unrelenting beats provided by the worlds best techno artists. Everyone was long overdue for this party and it was the climax to an amazing week of good times with new friends. It was for the people who annually descend to Miami in search of the best underground electronic music the world has to offer, put on by the people who know know where to find it.

Cécille and Oslo Records showcase in pictures…

Another gallery for you to check out and this time it’s the second party listed Productions and RV co-presented during WMC – the Cécille and Oslo Records showcase at the Victor Hotel.
.
I got to the party a little late, just as it was all kicking off. I heard from several people there that it was the best music they had heard all week, and the sets I heard certainly lived up to that. Great house music on great sound systems in a beautiful venue.
.
With the likes of Sasha, Loco Dice, Barem, Martin Buttrich, Cassy, Lee Burridge, Three, Steve Bug, Anja Schneider, and Mathias Tanzamann all stopping in at the event I wanted to give a big thanks to Gunita and Jonathan from listed for all their hard work to make this event such a success!

No Sugar Added and some RV Holiday snaps

So this is a glimpse into the other side of Miami, the side that everyone expects to find; Beefy dudes and plastic girls getting down to a soundtrack of bangin’ electro-house at 5 in the afternoon. Not my thing.
.
We got the run of the place after we turned up to do some interviews in the hotel lobby, and bumped into the promoters who were desperate to find a mic for Rachel Starr to use in her live PA. Fortunately for them Jason the RV camera man had one handy – which they promptly grabbed. Some bloke called D.O.N.S was headlining (trying to be cool like M.A.N.D.Y with that name I think, which is even more irritating to type than his), along with Rachel Starr, Chocolate Puma, Prok&Fitch and the list goes on…
.
Also in this album, some palm trees, beach, atmospheric night shots, and a couple of pictures from in- and outside the Miami Beach Resort and Spa which hosted the WMC.
.
Enjoy!

The RV Leeeeky Tikki Gallery!

So, finally I’ve overcome my battle with Photoshop, Picasa and people giving me a hard-time for taking so long to post these pics! Other galleries are coming soon. Let us know who you are if you’re in a picture!

WMC 2009 Video of The Leeeeky Tikki Cruise

I’ve posted a video from the party we presented with listed Productions on Thursday, March 26. It was a 5-hour cruise onboard a Tikki boat, with a bunch of up-for-it party goers and up-front tunes delivered by Captain Lee Burridge. (Sorry for the few days we had to take the video offline.)

What else can be said about this party? A few words spring to mind: Ridiculous Music. Awesome Vibe. Great People. Strong Drinks. Sunset. Funktion One Sound.
